It has been 10 years since the start of devolution and the health care system in Kitui is now worse than it has ever been before.

Hospitals are poorly equipped, have no medicine and no ambulances. Doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers are never paid on time.

The healthcare system in Kitui County is failing us.

In order to ensure our people, get the quality healthcare they deserve, the Mueke administration shall:

• Equip all hospitals and health centers with adequate medicine and staff,
• Build at least one level 4 hospital in every constituency,
• Upgrade Kitui, Mwingi & Mutomo level 4 hospitals to Level 5,
• Set up a cancer center at Kitui General Hospital.
• And, officially employ community health workers in every village.

It is time to have hospitals that work and prove that we can take care of our people and their families.
