Built a 120 bed maternity wing at Mbagathi hospital in 2014 which did not have one before.

Added a 112 body capacity mortuary at Mbagathi hospital where none existed before to help reduce the congestion at City Mortuary.

Constructed and commissioned Mwengenye dispensary and Mowlem health center both being fully equipped

Completed construction of Korogocho hospital to help decongest KNH and bring services closer to the community.

A total of 437 new health workers were recruited in the 1st mass employment exercised since 1998.

Increased the daily baby delivery capacity at Pumwani hospital from 20 deliveries per day to 80 deliveries a day making it the largest maternity hospital in Sub-Sahara Africa.

Rehabilitated and equipped the 3rd operating theatre at Pumwani Maternity hospital increasing the capacity of the hospital to manage theatre cases and reduce referral to KNH.

Education


Constructed 6 new modern schools with 5 having both pre-primary and primary sections. These are St. Catherine’s, St. Bakhita, Marurui, Marura, Mathare and St. Michaels Secondary schools.

172 new classrooms were built in over 20 schools such as Olympic Primary, Marurui primary, Kariobangi Primary, Mathare primary etc. and new dining halls were constructed at Muguga Green Primary and Nothern Day Nursery.

5 new ECDE centers were constructed at Agakhan, New Eastleigh, Roysambu and Supa Loaf

Between 2013 and 2017:

2475 students received Executive bursaries amounting to Kshs. 140,675,602/

81,980 Students benefitted from Assembly Representatives – Kshs. 409,906,164.00/-

Garbage Collection and Street Lighting

A total of 24 illegal garbage collection hotspots in Nairobi were cleared. Additionally, 26 legal collection points were fully functional and collection was done regularly, twice a week. There was also an increase in the number of collection trucks from 12 trucks as of 2013, to a total 60 trucks by 2017, as well as an increase in the number of tons of garbage collected in Nairobi from 691 tons per day as of 2013 to 1797 tons per day by 2017

Public Lights – 2,760

Implementation of lighting projects and in-house installation of new lights increased the infrastructure to:
